YOUR GIFT
HAS A PLACE HERE
Serving is the posture of the mature believer. Every department at The Brook Place exists because someone was willing to put their gift in the hands of God and say, "Use me." We are not looking for perfect people. We are looking for available ones.
Whether you carry a gift for music, administration, children, media, or hospitality, there is a place for you here. Browse the departments below, see who leads them, and step into the assignment God has prepared for you in this house.

THE WORD BEHIND THE SERVE
WHAT SCRIPTURE SAYS
ABOUT SERVING
In Romans 12 and 1 Corinthians 12, Paul teaches that every believer has received a charisma — a grace-empowered capacity to contribute to the body. These gifts were not given for private use. They were given for the building up of the church. A gift unused is a word unspoken. Your charisma is not complete until it is in service to others.
The Hebrew abad carries a double meaning that English cannot capture in one word. It means both "to work" and "to worship." The same root forms the word used when Israel was commanded to serve God and when Adam was told to work the garden. In the Kingdom, serving is not separate from worship. Every role you fill in this house is an offering laid on an altar.
Oikodomē means the act of building a house. Paul uses it repeatedly in his letters to describe what all ministry must accomplish: the edification, the building up, of the body of Christ. Every department in this church — media, children, hospitality, evangelism — exists for oikodomē. You are not just serving a function. You are laying a stone in a living building.
Shalach is the Hebrew word for sending — used of God sending Moses, sending the prophets, sending his word. When God calls you to serve in a department, he is not merely inviting your participation. He is shalach — deploying you with specific purpose into a specific assignment. You are not a volunteer filling a gap. You are an agent sent by heaven into a post.
