THE BROOK PLACE / GIVING

WORSHIP THROUGH

GIVING

ADVANCING
THE
KINGDOM

Giving is an act of worship and a demonstration of faith. Through your tithes and offerings, you partner with The Brook Place to spread the Gospel, develop leaders, serve communities, and raise a generation that carries God's presence and purpose. Together, we are building lives, strengthening families, and extending the reach of God's Kingdom across London and beyond.

ΔΊΔΩΜΙ
Didōmi — Greek / New Testament
didōmi meaning to grant, to bestow, to entrust with intent, didōmi expresses heartfelt, and often sacrificial, generosity. In John 3:16, God didōmi his only Son as an act of his redemptive love and generosity towards us. As we give, we too demonstrate our love and faithfulness to God, partnering with His purposes through stewardship of the resources He blessed us with.

WHAT SCRIPTURE

SAYS ABOUT GIVING

בְּרָכָה
Berakhah — Hebrew
"Blessing" — The Overflow of Covenant Faithfulness

Berakah From Genesis to Revelation, God demonstrates his love and generosity by blessing all creatures, giving his creative, life-giving ability that enables all living things to flourish. In Deuteronomy 28, God calls his people’s attention to the fact that berakah is the direct consequence of obedience. Jesus then came to restore to the people of God what they lost through failure to obey - the opportunity to experience this blessing. He did this through His redemptive work on the cross. When you give in faithfulness, you are not purchasing a blessing; you are aligning yourself with the covenant that releases it.

ΣΠΕΊΡΩ
Speirō — Greek
"To Sow" — The Agricultural Logic of Faith

Paul uses speirō in 2 Corinthians 9:6: “whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly; whoever sows generously will reap generously”. The agricultural image is intentional. A farmer who clings to his seed never sees a harvest. The seed must leave your hand before the ground can receive it. Your giving is not a loss; it is planting. God, who makes seeds grow, is faithful. Therefore “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” (Heb 13:16).
