The Ascension of the Holy Hill
Psalms 24:3-4 NKJV
“Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully.”
In the ascension of the Holy Hill of the Lord, welcome to the first stop: Refinement.
At the beginning of the ascent stands a lamppost of fire among the trees, marking the place where refinement takes place. The fire speaks of the removal of impurities and imperfections, sifting away all that is not of Him. To remain in the fire requires endurance and perseverance, the willingness to stay until purity is produced.
Beside the fire are onyx stones. They signify the ability to hold on, to endure, and to remain. The way they build up and cover the land speaks of growth in endurance and an expanding capacity to withstand the refining process. Endurance is not merely helpful in the ascent; it is necessary.
Flowing from the onyx is a mighty waterfall, representing the Word of God. Water cleanses and purifies. The water emerging from the onyx signifies what comes from enduring the fire: purification, cleansing, and renewal. From this place, rivers flow outward across the ground, representing what proceeds from a refined life for others to drink from.
The refinement is not only for you. It is also for those who will come into contact with the rivers that flow from you, that what they receive may not be polluted, but pure and filled with the Word.
Above, messengers fly through the sky carrying instruction and understanding. They reveal how the ascent unfolds, how to navigate the journey, and how to walk it well. Alongside them is a hand holding a book, detailing the life that is to be lived, serving as a reference point and guide for where one ought to be at each stage of the climb.
Together, these elements mark the beginning of the ascent of the Holy Hill of the Lord: the cultivation of endurance in the place of refinement, the cleansing that comes through His fire and His Word, and the release of His pure flow through your life to those below, that they too may begin their ascent of the Holy Hill.
