THE BROOK PLACE / DIGITAL GALLERY

PROPHETIC ART

"Every stroke is a sentence. Every canvas, a page of revelation." A gallery of prophetic art from the painters of The Brook Place.

WHO WE ARE

PAINTERS OF THE
UNSEEN

The TBP Scribes Collective is a gathering of prophetic painters within The Brook Place who carry a calling to see beyond the visible and translate it onto canvas. What words alone cannot always reach, colour and brushstroke often can. This gallery exists to house their work and to let the wider church encounter the things the Spirit has shown them.

ΧΆΡΙΣΜΑ
Charisma — Greek / New Testament
Charisma — the grace gift. The same word that describes prophecy, teaching, and healing in 1 Corinthians 12 also makes room for gifts the modern church often overlooks. Artistic ability is not a secular talent borrowed for sacred use. In Exodus 31, God filled Bezalel with his Spirit specifically for craftsmanship and artistry to build the tabernacle. Painting, like prophecy, can be a charisma — grace distributed for the building up of the house.

WHY WE PAINT

ART AS A
GIFT OF THE SPIRIT

The painters of the TBP Scribes Collective are ordinary members of this house who carry an uncommon gift: the ability to see what the Spirit is saying and render it visible. Some paint after a service, still trembling from what they encountered in worship. Others paint from dreams, from prayer, from a single verse that would not let them go. None of them paint for performance. They paint because something needed to be said that words could not fully carry.

We believe creativity did not originate with humanity — it originated with God, the first Creator, who spoke the world into being and called it good. Every artist who picks up a brush is reflecting an attribute of the One who made them. When a painter in this house lifts their brush, they are not stepping outside their spiritual gift. They are stepping fully into it.

חָכְמָה
Chokmah — Hebrew
"Wisdom / Skill" — The Spirit Behind Craftsmanship

In Exodus 31:3, God fills Bezalel with the Spirit and gives him chokmah — wisdom — specifically for artistic craftsmanship. The same word used for the wisdom of Solomon is used for the wisdom of a skilled artisan. Excellence in art is not separate from spiritual depth. It can be evidence of it.

ὅΡΑΣΙΣ
Horasis — Greek
"Vision" — Seeing What Others Cannot Yet See

Horasis is the Greek word for vision or sight — used in Acts 2:17 when Peter quotes Joel: "your young men shall see visions." A prophetic painter operates in horasis. What is seen in the Spirit is translated through colour and form so that others, too, can begin to see.
