The TBP Scribes Collective is a gathering of prophetic painters and poets within The Brook Place who carry a calling to see beyond the visible and to translate what they find onto canvas and into word. What speech alone cannot always reach, colour and brushstroke often can. What analysis cannot always hold, a line of poetry sometimes does. This gallery exists to house their work and to let the wider church encounter the things the Spirit has shown them, rendered in paint, carried in verse

WHY WE PAINT
ART AS A
GIFT OF THE SPIRIT
The painters and poets of the TBP Scribes Collective are ordinary members of this house who carry an uncommon gift: the ability to perceive what the Spirit is saying and render it visible, in colour, in image, in word. They create during the service, and some create after a service, still undone by what moved through the room. Others work from dreams, from grief, from a single verse that would not let them go. None of them create for performance or applause. They create because something needed to be said that ordinary language and ordinary sight could not fully convey.
We believe creativity did not originate with humanity; it originated with God, the first Creator, who spoke before anything existed and what He spoke came to be. Every artist who lifts a brush or reaches for a word is reflecting an attribute of the One who made them. They are not stepping outside their spiritual gift. They are stepping fully into it.
Dabar carries more than language. It means word, act, and thing at once. When God spoke through the prophets, the dabar of the Lord came. It arrived with weight, direction, and power. The poets of this house follow that tradition, handling words that move. Like David, the sweet psalmist of Israel, they release living words that awaken the house.
Horasis is the Greek word for vision or sight — used in Acts 2:17 when Peter quotes Joel: "your young men shall see visions." A prophetic painter operates in horasis. What is seen in the Spirit is translated through colour and form so that others, too, can begin to see.
